There is nothing quite like a case study to wow your prospects.

You see, when we read all the marketing fluff that’s been designed to sell to us, we take it with a pinch of salt. Of course you’re going to say you’re fantastic – you want people to buy from you! Customers are aware of that, so instead they look for social proof – words that haven’t come from you to describe what your service is really like. That’s why word of mouth is such powerful marketing.

Case studies are essentially word of mouth recommendations, written down. They allow you to explore a specific situation (one that’s all too familiar to your customers), and have a happy customer talk about what you did, how you did it, and how happy they are. It’s a much more relatable approach to sales, and means that prospects can see your solutions in action before they commit to buying. And most importantly, they build trust in you and your business that just can’t be bought.

But What Are Case Studies?

In short, case studies are stories. Stories about your brand, how you help people, and how amazing you are at it. And people love stories.

Ok, you probably want a more specific definition than that. Case studies are a form of sales collateral that focuses on just one client and the work you did for them, told in, mostly, their own words. I approach case studies in a very strategic and friendly way. First, I have a chat with you and get your side of the story. I identify the core areas you really want to cover, and get all the information I need to contact your chosen clients. Then, I contact them directly. I arrange for a short, recorded interview, in which I ask them all sorts of questions, drawing out what they truly think of you and your service (don’t worry, it’s usually good!). Once that’s done, I write up a transcript of the conversation for your records (so you know exactly what’s been said) and work my magic.

The result? A case study full of real customers saying amazing things about you, which you can share with prospects to show off your skills (without giving a sales pitch).
