A Collection Of Short Stories from My Clients

Real-life Case Studies

Of course, I would say I’m great at what I do. That’s sort of the whole point of a website – to big yourself up to prospects. But I don’t expect you to believe me just yet – after all, we hardly know each other. Instead, I’ve asked some of my lovely clients to share their experiences with you, in their own words. So grab yourself a cup of tea, coffee or hot chocolate, and have a read.

SEO agency

Geoff Roy

Geoff Roy runs a Fleet-based SEO agency called Leapfrog Internet Marketing. At Leapfrog, Geoff and his team focus on organic SEO to help business owners get their website onto page 1 of Google, without having to pay for advertising. Leapfrog has been running for 6 years now, and has amassed a client base spanning all kinds of industries.

A big part of getting on page 1 of Google is having regular blog content going onto client websites. But Geoff is an engineer and a technician, and although he can write copy, it takes forever and generally isn’t very engaging. Instead, he much prefers to outsource it to a wordsmith.

Before Working Together

Team members would spend hours creating content for clients, uploading it and optimising it within their chosen platform.

Content written in-house was technically correct, but not as engaging as it needed to be.

Time spent writing content in-house was creating capacity issues, and meant the team could not take on new clients or grow as quickly as they wanted.

After Working Together

Regular blog content is uploaded direct to each client’s website every month, on an agreed schedule.

Blog content is now helping boost SEO rankings for clients, producing better results..

Team members can now handle more client accounts, and are free to focus on the SEO elements of the business.

Geoff's Review

“Charlotte at Vivid Copy writes superb copy that is just spot on, every time. Whether it be web pages and or more informal blog content, she adjusts style, tone and words to fit that website and the industry sector it sits in. And content is delivered on time as well! She even uploads all the content directly into each client’s content management system and publishes it in line with our set schedule, which saves us an awful lot of work. We can give her a client and she can very quickly, even for some of the driest sectors we work in, particularly in the B2B spaces, come up with ideas that are still engaging and get people reading the content, and staying on the website. She communicates well, and Charlotte allows us to just get on with what we’re good at, while she gets on with putting great content on the page.”

Branding & Web Designer

Gemma Storey

Gemma is the brains (and a lot of the action) behind Infinity Creative – a graphic and web design agency that is all about bringing magic back into their client’s branding. Her main focus is on working with clients who want to be different, edgy and a little bit sparkly, and creating a full brand around their unique personality. They will work with a business from start to finish, from logo design to creating social media templates, building websites and providing everything their clients need to market their brand effectively.

But it wasn’t always so clear. When Gemma first started the business, she tried to be everything to everyone, and really wasn’t happy with the results. So instead of staying generic, she wanted to work a little magic on her own branding, and really showcase who she was, in the hopes of attracting the right kind of client. This meant reworking everything, from the visuals to the words.

Before Working Together

Writing a blog would often take hours, which meant she never had enough time to write her own blogs.

Her web copy wasn’t targeting the right kind of client, so she was struggling to find leads that matched with her skillset.

She struggled to write blogs that were engaging for readers and SEO friendly, so she wasn’t getting the results she wanted online.

After Working Together

She now has a steady stream of blogs uploaded to her website each month, without having to spend hours on them herself.

Her content marketing has improved, with the addition of new workbooks, leaflets and welcome packs written to a high standard..

Her e-courses are professional, with no spelling, punctuation or grammar issues.

Gemma's Review

“Wow, where do I start with this awesome purple lady?! As a graphic designer, my brand is very important to me. I had the visuals covered but capturing my quirky personality and putting it into words felt impossible. Which was why I hired Charlotte to help me transform my ‘meh’ web copy and content marketing into magical words that would convert. Thank god I did! From the moment Charlotte and I connected, I felt like everything was under control. She truly takes the time to understand you and your brand and as soon as the copy landed in my inbox I felt a huge sense of relief because finally, I’d found somebody that got me. Since I’ve launched, the positive feedback on my copy has been rolling in and I’m now eyeing up a booked-out calendar and a very happy business! Charlotte is now my right-hand woman and a fountain of knowledge when it comes to communicating what I do to my ideal clients. She’s ridiculously good at channelling my voice and personality in a way that not only sounds like me (so everything I put out feels real and authentic) but also expresses my message better than I ever could. If you’re thinking of hiring Charlotte, DO IT. Charlotte is the best investment for my business.”

Marketing agency

Lisa Chaffey

Lisa is the owner, manager and all-round doer for Pickle Marketing, a marketing agency based in the beautiful village of Goring-On-Thames. Pickle marketing specialise in providing social media and general marketing services, and even coaching. Pickle Marketing is Lisa’s pride and joy, and was born from years of seeing businesses do social media badly, and knowing she could do it better.

But social media and marketing require content to fuel their efforts, and this is where Pickle Marketing struggled. While their team could write content, it wasn’t what they wanted to be doing, and they knew their time could be better spent creating social media strategies instead.

Before Working Together

They were relying on clients to provide blog content for them to share on social media, which often wasn’t delivered on time, if at all.

In-house staff without specialist knowledge were writing content, taking up a lot of valuable time and ultimately creating content that wasn’t as good as it could be.

Social media plans not generating the results clients wanted.

After Working Together

The Pickle Marketing team have a reliable source of regular blog content for all of their clients

Staff are able to spend time on valuable tasks and generate better returns for their clients..

Blog content is matched to social media calendars, creating streamlined marketing messages for each client.

Lisa's Review

“In the world of marketing, content is king. However, supplying all of the content to fuel the marketing for our clients would be incredibly time-consuming, and would mean us spending less time on the parts we enjoy most and are great at. So that’s why we approached Vivid Copy to help meet the constant demand for content creation, not only our clients but also ourselves. Charlotte produces two blogs per month for us as well as web copy and LinkedIn profile copy as required. We know we are in a safe pair of hands and we are always delighted with the results. I believe that content creation is a fundamental cog in the marketing wheel, which enables us to be able to deliver value to our clients. I like to think of it as the jam in the middle of a Jammie Dodger, that keeps it all together. Thank you Charlotte for all that you do for us and for our clients. You are an integral part of our offering and our first port of call for anything content. Look forward to working with you more in the future.”

Flooring company

Louise Martin

Floor24 are a family owned flooring company, with showrooms in Farnborough and Andover. Offering a complete supply and install package and highly trained, knowledgeable staff, they quickly became one of the most popular independent flooring retailers in the area. The business had grown over the years, and through word-of-mouth and traditional advertising, they had generated a stable client base and consistent business.

Like many trades, Floor24 initially didn’t think they needed online marketing to support their physical advertising. But they wanted to stay ahead of the competition, and knew that moving into the online space was the way to do it. Blogging is a fantastic tool for the trades, and so they decided to dip their toe in the water with Vivid Copy.

Before Working Together

The company had no blog function on their website at all.

The website had been static for a number of years, and was slipping down the search rankings.

The team had no way of sharing their knowledge, favourite products or current projects with customers.

After Working Together

The website now has a blog page, which is updated twice a month with new, relevant content.

The website Google ranking is now starting to improve, and they are already being found more often in local search results..

Customers regularly comment on blog topics to staff, and staff are able to use blogs as a sales tool.

Louise's Review

“I would like to thank Charlotte from Vivid Copy for her wonderful copywriting services. When we received the quote for two blogs per month, we were delighted that the price was significantly more affordable than two other quotes we had for the same service from other companies. Charlotte came to our premises and we went through a long list of questions that are regular questions from our customers – which created excellent blog topics. After this, as if by magic – two blogs a month appear on our website (yes she even uploads them for us), and they are always factually accurate and informative. I have even had potential new contracts research our company ahead of meetings and comment on how having a blog sets us aside from others, as the topics we blog about show how much we care about our customers. The regular new content also helps with our SEO and as a direct result of the brilliant blogs that Charlotte writes and uploads for us, we have gained more leads & more profit in our business. Not only this but Charlotte is really kind & friendly and will often help me with issues outside of her remit & fully supports our business in other ways – we really feel like she is one of our team.”
